$90 when we are already in the house for an air service, $199 as a trip of its own. Not the first metre you can reach from the laundry room. The whole run, brushed and vacuumed from both ends, with the outside cap cleared and checked.
Two reasons people book this, and one of them is serious
The first is that the dryer stopped working properly. A load that used to take one cycle now takes two or three, the clothes come out hot and still damp, and the machine is running for hours a week longer than it should be. That is almost always restriction, not a failing dryer.
The second is fire. Lint is extremely flammable, a partially blocked run traps heat against it, and dryer lint is consistently the leading material first ignited in clothes dryer fires. It is the one piece of home maintenance where the downside is not an inconvenience.
What a proper clean involves
- The machine is pulled out and the transition hose behind it is cleaned or flagged if it is the crushed foil kind that should be replaced.
- The full duct run is brushed along its length — rotating brush on a rod, worked from both ends where the layout allows.
- Vacuum on the run while brushing, so what comes off the wall leaves the house instead of settling further along.
- The exterior cap is cleared and the damper checked. A flap stuck shut with lint, or jammed open and letting birds nest in it, is a surprisingly common find.
- Airflow confirmed at the outside vent before we leave, so you know it actually moved.
How often, honestly
Once a year for most households. Sooner if you have a long or complicated duct run, a large family doing daily loads, or pets that shed — pet hair binds lint together and blocks a run far faster than clothing alone.
If your dryer is on an outside wall with a short straight run and you do three loads a week, every two years is fine and we will say so.

How do I know if mine needs doing?
Clothes taking more than one cycle to dry, the top of the dryer hot to the touch, a burning or musty smell while running, or more than a year since the last clean.
How long does it take?
Usually under an hour for a standard run.
Do you replace the vent hose?
We clean it. If yours is the crushed foil accordion type, we will tell you — those trap lint by design and rigid or semi-rigid metal is a genuine safety upgrade. We will point you at what to buy rather than mark one up.
My dryer is in the middle of the house. Is that a problem?
No, it just means a longer run and usually a roof or high wall exit. Text us the address and we will confirm the price before booking.
